Paige's Christmas Jar

This year we thought we would have Paige pick out her very own presents to give to her grandparents and uncles. So we came up with a job chart for her to earn the money to pay for them. She was supposed to make her bed, set the table and clean up her toys before bed each night. Then she would earn a quarter for each job she completed each day. She decorated a jar to keep the money in.
She did a great job and by the 17th of December she had earned $10. So she paid her tithing and put the rest of the money in her pocket, then we headed to Walmart for some shopping.
We were running all around the store picking up things and when we got to the register her money was gone! It had fallen out of her pocket.
What were we going to do - we had been all over the store, where were we going to find the money?
Mike went to try to find it, while we stood in line. I had a thought to have us say a little prayer right there in the middle of Walmart - to ask for help to find the money.
A couple of minutes later Mike walked up with the money in his hand. He had had a thought to look in the shoe department and it was there hiding under one of the shelves.
It was a very powerful way to teach Paige about prayer and that Heavenly Father really does hear and answer our prayers. And hopefully she will learn to love giving.

First Crush

Paige generally thinks that boys are not much fun. When we go to the park and there are boys there she says she is ready to go home and she doesn't want to be around the boys. But there is one boy that might have changed her mind. Ethan is in her preschool class and she has been talking about him from the very first day.

One night we were in the car with Brian and drove by the temple.

Us: Are you going to get married in the temple?
Paige: Yes
Brian: Do you have a boyfriend?
Paige: Yes
Brian: Who is it?
Paige: Ethan
Brian: What do you like about Ethan?
Paige: He has an E in his name
Brian: Are you going to marry Ethan in the temple?
Paige: No, he is going to marry me!

I think we are in trouble!

Santas make me FRANTIC!

In early November we were in Hobby Lobby looking at Christmas decorations with Grandma. Paige looked down one aisle where there were some Santas that were about 3 feet tall... she said to us, "I don't want to go down there - Santa makes me frantic!" Later we were laughing about it and asked her where she learned that word - she said "In France!"
